About Me

Aziel Nunez’s life narrative is a compelling testament to the power of diverse cultural experiences and a deep commitment to service. Born to Evangelical missionaries, his early years were spent absorbing the rich artistic tapestries of Mexico City, San Diego, Redlands, Madrid, and Chicago. This unique upbringing not only broadened his horizons but also ingrained in him a profound understanding of various cultures and spiritual beliefs.

His educational and career trajectory mirrors the eclectic influences of his childhood. He embarked on an academic journey at Colgate University, pursuing a BA in Political Science and Religion. This choice reflects his innate curiosity about the world and its myriad belief systems. His academic quest continued as he earned an MDiv from Yale University and a DMin in Transformational Leadership from Boston University. These academic achievements underscore his relentless pursuit of knowledge and leadership skills.

In his professional life, he dedicated himself to pastoral work, leading several Hispanic non-denominational congregations across various states, including Massachusetts, New York, and South Carolina. His work went beyond spiritual guidance; it was a mission to empower communities. His role as an Adjunct Instructor at Tri-County Technical College further exemplified his belief in the transformative power of education, particularly in uplifting underprivileged communities.

Nunez’s expertise spans several key areas. He is passionate about education as a means of empowerment and is deeply committed to the upliftment of marginalized communities. His academic focus on first-century Judaism and the Sociology of Religion has been integral to his pastoral work. His 11 years as a parish pastor have been marked by a deep commitment to these areas, making him a significant figure in both academic and religious circles.

His contributions, especially to the Latinx community, were recognized with the Hispanic Heritage Month Mayor Proclamation, a fitting acknowledgment of his tireless efforts and dedication to community service.

Away from his professional responsibilities, he has a rich array of hobbies. Skiing is a favorite pastime, a love that began during his college days in New York. His academic interests, particularly in first-century Judaism, transcend his professional life, offering him personal insights and a deeper understanding of religious sociology. Nature walks, often enjoyed with his family, reflect his love for the natural world and his contemplative nature.

His leadership extends to charitable endeavors, where he consistently places the needs of others before his own, embodying the ethos of service above self.

Aziel Nunez’s life is a mosaic of cultural understanding, academic excellence, and committed service. His journey through various realms of education, pastoral care, and community service is a vibrant illustration of how diverse experiences and a steadfast commitment to service can lead to a life of significant impact, truly embodying the essence of leadership through service.
