About Me

Aziel Nunez began his journey with innate qualities of empathy, leadership, and patience, deeply rooted from a young age. As a child of Evangelical missionaries, he was exposed to a rich tapestry of cultures and spiritual teachings, having lived in diverse places such as Mexico City, San Diego, Redlands, Madrid, and Chicago.

Educational Journey and Professional Aspirations

His background profoundly influenced his educational choices. He earned a BA in Political Science and Religion from Colgate University, an MDiv from Yale University, and a DMin in Transformational Leadership from Boston University. His quest for knowledge didn’t stop there.

As a pastor, he led Hispanic non-denominational congregations across Massachusetts, New York, and South Carolina, touching many lives with his wisdom. His passion for education also led him to be an Adjunct Instructor at Tri-County Technical College, uplifting underprivileged communities.

Areas of Proficiency

Nunez’s expertise spans several areas. He is committed to using education as a tool for empowerment, particularly in under-resourced communities. His focus includes first-century Judaism and the Sociology of Religion. His 11 years as a parish pastor have allowed him to impact these fields profoundly, making him a prominent figure in both academia and pastoral circles.

Recognition and Honors

His exceptional work, especially with the Latinx community, earned him the Hispanic Heritage Month Mayor Proclamation, a recognition of his enduring efforts to bridge diverse communities.

Interests Outside Work

Away from his professional life, he enjoys skiing, a hobby that began in the cold climate of upstate New York. He also delves into the study of first-century Judaism, finding peace in understanding the complexities of religious sociology. Nature walks with his family also showcase his compassionate side.
